We are thrilled to announce a special collaboration between the Grandmother Collective, CoGenerate, Generations United, and 1Community to celebrate the upcoming Netflix release of Nonnas on May 9, 2025. This heartwarming film, featuring stars like Vince Vaughn, Susan Sarandon, Linda Cardellini, and Lorraine Bracco, draws inspiration from Staten Island's renowned restaurant, Enoteca Maria.
Enoteca Maria is celebrated for its unique approach to cuisine, employing grandmothers from diverse cultural backgrounds to prepare authentic family recipes. This culinary initiative not only offers a rich tapestry of global flavors but also fosters intergenerational connections and cultural appreciation through the universal language of cooking.
In the spirit of the film and the restaurant's mission, our collaboration aims to encourage families and communities worldwide to host Nonnas watch parties from May 9 through June 30. These gatherings serve as a platform to spark meaningful conversations about aging, the value of intergenerational relationships, the celebration of our cultural heritage, and the vital roles we all play at any age.
By coming together to watch Nonnas, we celebrate the wisdom and traditions passed down through generations and recognize the power of shared experiences in strengthening community bonds.

You’ll receive updates, support (including our helpful guide and timeline for hosting a watch party), and a link to join a post-event virtual community gathering
